Six months later, she began dating actor and singer Steve Kazee, who is best known for his roles on Shameless, The Walking Dead and Nashville.
The pair got engaged in February 2020 and welcomed their first child together, a son named Callum, on March 6, 2020. Dewan and Kazee announced the news that they are expecting their second child together on Instagram on Jan. 17, 2024. The actress shared a video of herself soaking in the bathtub with her bare baby bump on full display. In the clip, a fully clothed Kazee plays the guitar and sings as he sits next to the tub.
“Think if I make @stevekazee serenade me every night the baby will get his voice??” Dewan wrote in the caption. In separate posts, Dewan shared several photos from her maternity cover shoot with Romper magazine.
In the accompanying interview, Dewan discussed filming the upcoming Season 6 of ABC’s The Rookie while pregnant, calling the experience “exhausting” but also “amazing.” She continued: “It helps balance my mind. And The Rookie is truly the most dreamy, incredible job. Everyone is so lovely. It’s really fun, and it’s easy, and it flows, and so I think that’s a big part of why it’s easy for me to work pregnant.”

“We’ve had a lot of [real-life] pregnancies on the show over the years; this is going to be the first one that we don’t feature in the character. That being said, I think it’s fair to say that there will be conversations and conflict about the idea of whether they’re going to have kids, independent of Jenna literally being pregnant,” Hawley said.
Hawley continued, “It’s definitely a conversation. This was the first time that I got an ‘I am pregnant’ phone call from an actress where I didn’t step into the writers room and go, ‘OK, this is what we’re doing this year…,’ because we already had story that we really liked that was about the conversations. So, yeah, we’re hiding it.”
