WARNING! THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM THE TUESDAY, AUGUST 13 EPISODE OF BIG BROTHER 26!
Big Brother season 26 houseguest Angela Murray has another critic in season 24 winner Taylor Hale, who said that she didn't think Angela's strategy was the best way to play the game. Angela has faced some harsh backlash during Big Brother season 26, despite winning two Head of Household (HOH) competitions so far this season. Her over-the-top antics, including a tirade in which she called Matt Hardeman "Crazy Eyes," and her mocking of Lisa Weintraub's walk and calling her a twit, have made her a target of her fellow houseguests. There has even been speculation that Angela is a producer plant.
"Look, Angela…she wants to play. Do I think it's the best way to play? Not necessarily."
In a clip from the special Tuesday, August 13 episode, shared via the Big Brother YouTube channel, winners Taylor, Jag Bains, and Cody Calafiore discussed the Big Brother 26 season so far.
Cody said that this season feels a lot like old school Big Brother because people aren't afraid to speak their minds. Cody said that he was "all for it," and Jag and Taylor agreed. Taylor said, "It's Big frickin' Brother. I can't be mad at it." However, Taylor added, "Look, Angela…she wants to play. Do I think it's the best way to play? Not necessarily." Cody and Jag then talked about how Angela spiraled because of paranoia.
Is Taylor Hale’s Criticism Of Angela Murray’s Gameplay Valid?
Angela Deserves Taylor's Shade
Taylor's criticism of Angela's Big Brother 26 gameplay is definitely valid. While it's fun to watch houseguests create chaos, it's uncomfortable to watch them bully others. Angela's personal attacks on Matt and Lisa had nothing to do with gameplay, and they were completely unacceptable. It's a shame because Angela has now won half of the HOH competitions that were played this season, so she has the potential to be a major player. As a Big Brother superfan, she should know that becoming too much of a loose cannon in the house puts a bigger target on a houseguest's back.
Angela was also part of one of the most outrageous moves in Big Brother history when Tucker Des Lauriers was nominated for eviction alongside her and won the Power of Veto. However, rather than use it on himself, he used it to save Angela in order to try to put forth a plan to backdoor Quinn Martin. Although his plan failed, he won the BB A.I. Arena competition and kept himself safe for another week. Angela always seems to be at the center of the drama.
It's not surprising that Taylor isn't a fan of Angela's gameplay. During Big Brother 24, Taylor was the victim of both overt bullying and microaggressions from her fellow houseguests, including Daniel Durston, who blew up at her over a misunderstanding in which Taylor wasn't in the wrong. Taylor knows how it feels to be humiliated in the Big Brother house, so she can surely understand how Matt and Lisa felt when Angela attacked them. It's possible to scheme and lie on Big Brother without including unnecessary personal attacks. Taylor is right to criticize Angela.
Big Brother season 26 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EDT and Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
