New Amsterdam star Ryan Eggold has landed a guest role on Law & Order.
According to TVLine, the actor will guest star in a season 24 episode of the procedural drama as Matt Riley, the brother of Detective Vince Riley (played by Veep's Reid Scott, who joined the cast last season).
Law & Order: SVU's Mariska Hargitay will also make an appearance in the upcoming season, as her character Captain Olivia Benson is set to cross over to the flagship series in an October episode.
Elizabeth Marvel will also reprise her role as Defense Attorney Rita Calhoun during the same episode.
Meanwhile, ER star Maura Tierney was recently cast in Law & Order's upcoming season as a series regular. While character details are being kept under wraps, the actor is rumoured to be playing a new lieutenant.
Tierney's character is set to fill the void left by Camryn Manheim, who made her final appearance as Lieutenant Kate Dixon in the season 23 finale.
Ahead of her exit, show creator Dick Wolf said in a statement: "I thank Camryn for her three wonderful seasons helping us relaunch Law & Order. She is a class act, and I wish her nothing but the best for her next chapter."
News of Manheim's exit came after Sam Waterston also quit the show after more than 400 episodes in the role of District Attorney Jack McCoy.
Waterston played the character for most of the Law & Order's 23 seasons, and was one of several original cast members to return when the show was resurrected in 2021.
Law & Order airs on Thursdays at 8pm ET on NBC, followed by Law & Order: Special Victims Unit at 9pm and Law & Order: Organized Crime at 10pm. The shows air on Sky Witness in the UK, with select episodes available on NOW.
