‘Law and Order’ Fans “Howled” After Seeing Chris Meloni’s Shocking Instagram of His Wife

Throughout his years on TV, Law and Order fans have held on to hope that Christopher Meloni's character Stabler would eventually profess his love to Mariska Hargitay's Benson. While this has yet to happen, the actor has no problem sharing how much he loves his wife Doris Sherman Williams (who goes by Sherman) off-screen — including in playful ways.

To celebrate Valentine's Day, the Law and Order: Organized Crime star took to Instagram to post a series of photos from the special night. In the first picture, the couple smiles for a selfie at the Edge, above the New York City skyline. But in the second photo, Christopher stood alone. This led the actor to make a quip about why Sherman was left out of the follow-up shot.

"Me and my best [girl] @sherman.meloni celebrate valentines high above the city and then one wrong step," he joked in the February 14 caption. "But it was a great night."

While some Law and Order fans may have taken his Instagram to heart and voiced their concerns, many couldn't help but laugh at the married duo's memory. Viewers let him know their thoughts in the comments, saying they enjoyed the light-hearted camaraderie between them.

"Omg! 😂😂😂😂😂 Legit howled. Dear Lord. 😂😂😂," one person wrote. "Oh dude that’s just WRONG! @sherman.meloni he’s lucky you have the patience of a saint 😂😂," another added. "This seems like Law and Order is about to write a new episode. 😂," a different follower jested.

Now, for those worried about Sherman's whereabouts after the fact, Christopher updated folks with a follow-up video. In the clip, she not only appeared physically fine, but she did a small dance in the elevator on their way down from the top of the Edge.

"For all those expressing concern over @sherman.meloni welfare. She lives to dance another day," he wrote later on February 15.

Jokes aside, Christopher and Sherman continue to have love for one another. He spoke to People in October 2022 about the secret behind their marriage, which he said is understanding each other's strengths and weaknesses.

"It's her patience with me, and I really mean that," he told the outlet. "She's allowed me to grow at my speed, because she's always been more mature and more levelheaded in many ways."
