‘Law and Order’ Fans Are Attacking Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay’s Selfie on Instagram

Law and Order fans enjoy celebrating Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay every chance they get.

Case in point, on March 28, the Organized Crime actor shared a photo of himself with the SVU actress when the two stopped by the Late Night With Seth Meyers. In the pic, Mariska has her arm over Chris' shoulder as he points the camera toward both of them to take a selfie. Though the NBC star may appear to be shy in front of the camera with coy smiles, the duo had a great time discussing "Bensler" (a combination of their characters' names, Benson and Stabler) with host Seth Meyers.

Chris captioned his Instagram post: "Tonight @latenightsethwith Marsha Haggerty." The Late Night with Seth Meyers promotional image can be seen in the background of the photo.

Unsurprisingly, Law and Order fans cannot get enough of this "Bensler" moment. Many immediately took to the Instagram comments section to share their thoughts about seeing Chris and Mariska together in real life. As fans may know, the pair reunited last year on the small screen when the actor returned to the Law and Order franchise after a decade away. Since then, their characters have crossed paths and continued to create TV magic.

Both the NBC network and viewers couldn't get over the selfie. The official NBC Instagram account commented: "Icons." One person wrote: "LOOK, I DON’T EVEN HAVE WORDS 🔥🔥🔥." Another added: "STOP MOM AND DAD STARTING CHAOS I LOVE IT ❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍🔥🔥." A different fan said: "Im not crying you are 😭😭😭."

What's more, folks didn't fail to notice that Chris intentionally misspelled Mariska's full name in the Instagram caption most likely to make them laugh. A follower commented: "MARSHA HAGGERTY STOP IT." Someone else wrote: "Marsha haggerty love it."

As the Law and Order fandom may have already heard, Chris and Mariska gave them a shoutout during their Late Night appearance. "Our fans are crazy, crazy loyal, and they’re so nuts. I don’t think other people have fans like we do,” the actress said. “The SVU fans, they’re hardcore.”

But not even they could have predicted all they love they would keep receiving over the years. Now, fans have recently given the pair new combined names of endearment, including Chrishka and Marshmelon. In case you're wondering, the latter happened thanks to the Organized Crime actor. "Chris calls me Marsha sometimes," Mariska said on the show. "One of the many names."
