FBI Season 6 Will “Lose A Family Member,” Tease Stars

FBI season 6 will lose a family member, according to the show's stars. Co-created by Law & Order's Dick Wolf and Craig Turk, the procedural drama has become a franchise for CBS. The original, which debuted in 2018, has led to spinoffs, FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted. Despite its growing universe, the main FBI show has had a largely consistent main cast that includes Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, Alana de la Garza, and John Boyd.

Speaking with TV Insider about what's to come in FBI season 6, Peregrym, De La Garza, and Zaki noted that there would be a major death in the upcoming episodes. Although it's stressed that this is not one of them, Peregrym does hint that it will be the loss of a family member. Their quotes are below:

Peregrym: “We lose a family member.”

De La Garza: “[It's someone] close to home.”

Peregrym: “The point is, it’s a very heavy episode about the risk of the jobs that we do and how much it affects us when things go the wrong way, and that’s how we start the season.

Zaki: “One of us is super close to it. It is the result of a call that one of us make, and one of us will have to go through that journey this season and dealing with that. So it’s going to be really interesting to see that character go through that because it’s a very strong character on the show that I feel we’re all very excited about seeing doing some of more in-depth work.”

What To Know About FBI Season 6

The team looks shocked while standing outside of a building in FBI

Previously released photos of FBI season 6 revealed the entire team in the mix for the upcoming premiere episode. That includes Special Agent Maggie Bell (Peregrym), Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan (Zaki), Special Agent Stuart Scola (Boyd), Special Agent Tiffany Wallace (Katherine Renee Kane), Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine (Sisto), and Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille (De La Garza).

Along with FBI Technical Analyst James Chen (Ian Lim), the team deals with a bus explosion that kills several people. But on a separate front, Scola deals with the reality of being a father. That builds off a development from the previous season, in which FBI: Most Wanted season 5 newcomer Special Agent Nina Chase (Shantel VanSanten) gave birth via C-section after complications that seemed to be life-threatening at one point. Nina and Stuart are now proud parents. But, from the sounds of things, that may be juxtaposed with a personal loss.

The FBI franchise is no stranger to shocking deaths. The main show lost Rina Trenholm (Kathleen Munroe) as the character dies off-screen as the result of a brain hemorrhage that occurred during surgery. Over on the spinoff FBI: Most Wanted, original character Jess LaCroix (Julian McMahon) similarly dies off-screen as the result of his wounds. It sounds like the team members are safe in the premiere episode in FBI, although the same is not true for everyone.
