FBI: Most Wanted’s Jess LaCroix Actor Exits Show After Season 3

Julian McMahon, who plays Special Agent Jess LaCroix on FBI: Most Wanted, is set to exit the series before the end of season 3. FBI: Most Wanted was created by Rene Balcer, serving as a spinoff series to CBS' FBIMost Wanted focuses on the FBI's Most Wanted Unit, a team tasked with hunting down those responsible for the most extreme crimes. McMahon stars in the series alongside Roxy Sternberg, Keisha Castle-Hughes, YaYa Gosselin, and Kellan Lutz.

As reported by Deadline, McMahon's final episode of FBI: Most Wanted is expected to film next week before airing on March 8. Though McMahon's exit comes before the end of season 3, Most Wanted will introduce a new character to replace LaCroix before the season is over. Most Wanted executive producer Dick Wolf stated, "We are saddened to see Julian leave," before adding, "His portrayal of agent Jess LaCroix has been a key factor in the success of FBI: Most Wanted." McMahon also made a statement, discussing the character and praising his fellow cast and crew. Check out McMahon's comments on his FBI: Most Wanted exit below:

"Over the past few months, the producers of FBI: Most Wanted and I have had discussions about my departure from the show in favor of additional creative pursuits and the transition of my character Jess LaCroix. These ongoing conversations have given us an opportunity to orchestrate a seamless and productive way for me to leave the show."

"I would like to express the gratitude and admiration I have had working with [executive producers] Dick Wolf and Peter Jankowski. I’m extremely proud of the work we have done together and put the development of this show, and my character Jess, at the top of my professional experience list. I wish the show, and its cast & crew, the greatest success in the future. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to play Jess; he is a good man."

FBI: Most Wanted has not yet released any information regarding McMahon's replacement. Details on the character's exit are also under wraps. However, with LaCroix's daughter, Tali, leaving for boarding school in Canada, his moving closer to her could serve as a plausible plot point leading to his departure. Still, CBS' FBI shows are going strong, with the original series, FBI, in its fourth season, Most Wanted in its third, and newcomer FBI: International in its first season. While McMahon's exit could hit audiences hard, FBI: Most Wanted looks to be holding steadfast in CBS' lineup.
